GRADUATION INFORMATION
Graduation is a time to celebrate what you've accomplished.
However, graduation is not automatic. To graduate, all students (undergraduate, graduate, and medical) must apply online. If you need assistance, contact Registrar Services, first floor, Chubb Hall. The application must be submitted no later than the published graduation deadline for the semester in which graduation is planned.
There is a $50 application fee for graduation.
Students may graduate at the end of any semester as long as they complete their requirements, but there is only one graduation ceremony per year on the first Saturday in May. If you wish to walk in this commencement ceremony you need to order your cap and gown and let the Commencement office know you plan to walk. You can find the information at www.ohio.edu/commencement. Your diploma will be mailed to you approximately eight weeks after graduation to the address supplied on your application.
Individuals may participate in the commencement ceremony if they will be completing courses during the summer and/or fall semester immediately following the May ceremony. If an individual wishes to walk in the May commencement ceremony and have his/her name listed in the program as a candidate for graduation, s/he will need to apply for spring semester graduation and indicate on the application that the degree will not be finished until the end of summer or fall semester.
If you haven't met the requirements to graduate, you will be notified. Students who are denied graduation must reapply by the posted deadline for the term in which they will complete their requirements.
The system will assess the student $50. The reapplication fee is $5. Fees are subject to change. Click HERE for graduation fee information.
To apply for graduation:
- Go to: www.ohio.edu/registrar
- Click on "Apply for Graduation" under "Online Services for Students"
Students must apply for graduation and pay the graduation fee no later than the date
published for the semester they wish to graduate.
