University Outreach at Ohio University provides access to quality learning opportunities for traditional and non-traditional students, broadening the University experience to those who cannot attend classes on an Ohio University campus. University Outreach acheives its mission by offering courses and degrees off-campus, through Web-based and video-based distance learning and through professional development and training opportunities across the region, throughout the state and across the globe.

Ohio University Learning Network

In order to reach out to students from all communities, The Office for University Outreach at Ohio University helps fund the Ohio University Learning Network to provide distance learning facilities. Since 1983, the OULN has connected OU's campuses with interactive televised classes, made possible through two-way microwave towers on each campus and a parallel system of T-1 based video units.
