Methods of Course Instruction | The course covers fundamentals of PhotoShop CS4 with hands-on demonstrations from the book and basic graphic design principles. Course content is divided by weeks. Course Objectives |
This online course will provide the foundation for the fundamentals of Adobe PhotoShop CS4 and basic graphic design principles. It will provide a designers discussion forum for pertinent discussion questions and responses from students. |

General Course Requirements |
Each student will be given the opportunity to demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental principles of graphic design and Photo Shop CS4. Each student will be evaluated based on three criteria: knowledge of Photo Shop CS4, grasp of the principles of graphic design as demonstrated in a number of projects, and regular participation on Blackboard discussions

Required | Text(s) SOFTWARE: (If you do not already have PS CS4 installed on your computer) If you need to purchase Adobe PS CS4, an educational version of the software is available from Ohio University at a substantially reduced cost to the student. This version has no expiration date and contains the same functions as a full version. Contact the MIS department in Athens to arrange purchase or go here: http://www.ohio.edu/software Please be aware that if you have an older computer, you may need to (a) upgrade your system to accommodate Adobe Photoshop CS4 [add more RAM or upgrade graphics card or both] or (b) make arrangements to use the computers in OUZ Room 163 while the computer lab is open. Call the OUZ front desk to find out what times Room 163 will be open.
