Course
Description

Introduces productivity software within the framework of business applications. Involves hands-on assignments including Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, the Internet, and e-mail.

Prerequisites

C or better in MATH 101



Methods of Course Instruction

This course will be conducted online.  All assignments will be posted on Blackboard. All assignments, exams, and online discussions will also be submitted via Blackboard.

Course Objectives

This class introduces productivity software within the framework of business applications.  It involves hands-on assignments involving Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation graphics. This class will also cover the basic components of a modern personal computer.

  • Weekly hands-on assignments using PowerPoint, Word, Access, or Excel
  • Weekly online class discussions or chat sessions
  • Weekly textbook readings
  • Short weekly open book quizzes

How are exams to be taken: Closed book.  First part will be online multiple choice, second part will be hands-on which will need to be submitted via Blackboard.
