Course
Description

Introduces productivity software within the framework of business applications. Involves hands-on assignments including Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, the Internet, and e-mail.

Prerequisites

C or better in MATH 101.



Methods of Course Instruction

All course content outside of the textbook will be available on Blackboard.
This includes the course syllabus and schedule, assignment details, all necessary data files, and review materials. Assignments will be submitted via Blackboards Assignment feature.


Course Objectives

The course introduces productivity software within the framework of business applications. It involves hands-on assignments including the Windows operating system, computer components and concepts, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, the Internet, web pages, and e-mail.

General Course Requirements

Weekly assignments and projects using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, e-mail, and the Internet.

Final project incorporating use of all of the above mentioned tools

Two exams which will cover both concepts and applications

Additional or Optional Materials
Students will need access to a computer, the Internet, OU e-mail, and Microsoft Office 2007.

How are exams to be taken: Exams will be taken online, at a proctored testing center, using the Blackboard system

Exam 1 to be taken between 8:00 a.m., Monday, February 1, and 9:00 p.m., Friday, February 5

Exam 2  to be taken between 8:00 a.m., Monday, March 8, and 9:00 p.m., Friday, March 12
