Course
Description

This course provides a broad understanding of marketing activities, decisions, and terms with an emphasis on the practices and problems of marketing managers and the analysis of the marketing environment.

Prerequisites

Sophomore



Methods of Course Instruction

Black Board Content, Powerpoint Slides, E-mail submission of assignments, Online Tests.


Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to give students a taste of what marketing is about. If you leave this course with broad understanding of marketing activities, the course objective has been achieved. Some specific objectives of the course include:

  • To understand the fundamental marketing concepts and how a firm can become market-oriented.
  • To understand what role marketing plays in the organization and how it influences the quality of life of masses in general.
  • To analyze critically the marketing process, the environment within which it operates, and the institutions and functions that are performed.
  • To understand how basic marketing ideas are applicable to other than business institutions and to personal career and consumption patterns.

General Course Requirements

- 4 assignment reports. Each 2 pages
- 4 online tests. Proctor not required.
