Course
Description

Discussion of classic and/or modern philosophical views of human values, ideals, and morality. Provides introductory survey of some main problems, concepts, and results of ethics including selected philosophers of past and present.

Blackboard course content, discussion boards, email submissions.

Course Objectives

Examination of the major issues and theories in moral philosophy

General Course Requirements

Ten weekly writing assignments; a midterm and a final exam

Readings from free online classical philosophy texts (e.g., Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics,
Mill’s Utilitarianism)

Requirements

2 exams (one midterm and one final exam) - No proctoring required

How are exams to be taken: online, open book with notes allowed.
