Description

Analysis of women in leadership roles in relation to historical, sociological, psychological, and economic perspectives. Strategies for developing leadership skills integrated throughout the course.

Prerequisites

Senior standing and PSY 101 or SOC 101.

Methods of Course Instruction

Communication and submission of assignments by email. Blackboard is not used in this class.

Course Objectives	Students in the course will: Examine the role of analysis and synthesis in relation to the course content. Locate and evaluate resources related to women and leadership. Analyze the impact of selected historical, sociological, psychological, political, economic, and ethical issues on women who seek or occupy leadership positions. Examine masculine and feminine stereotypes related to leadership ability, style, role, and responsibilities. Analyze leadership roles and responsibilities using the literature from a variety of disciplines. Gather and analyze information related to the roles and responsibilities of women in leadership positions. Evaluate self in relation to past and present experiences, career goals, and leadership skills. Demonstrate leadership skills throughout the online course by finding resources, contacting and working with other students in the class, and by taking the initiative to complete the assignments. Share ideas, knowledge, experiences, and expertise with others in class.

Course Objectives

Students in the course will:
