Winter Intersession provides Ohio University's students with an opportunity to complete required courses during the long holiday break in December. A variety of classes, including Tier III, are offered primarily to juniors and seniors.
Courses are offered in compressed duration and meet one, two, three, or five weeks in online, traditional, and blended formats.
Winter Intersession hours are NOT included in the Winter Quarter course load and are charged separately from Winter Quarter, but listed on the Winter Quarter eBill. If you are currently receiving financial aid for winter quarter, winter aid will automatically pay toward winter intersession charges. However, no additional aid is available for winter intersession.
Athens Campus Winter Intersessions classes are NOT included in the winter quarter comprehensive fee.
Athens Campus Winter Intersession credit hours are NOT included as part of winter quarter. (If you register for 8 hours during Winter Intersession, you can still register for up to 20 hours for winter quarter.)
Charges for Winter Intersession classes show up as a separate, additional charge on your winter quarter bill.
Because Winter Intersession classes are condensed from a full quarter, add and drop dates are different. Click here to view specific add/drop dates for Winter Intersession courses.
